연대를 정확히 알 수 없는 과거의 시간. 심한 상처를 입은 남자를 부축해 병사들로부터 긴박하게 추격당하는 한 여인은 산 속으로 몸을 피신하여 순간의 위기를 모면하나 그 곳에서 삶을 신뢰하며 당당하고 숭고하게 그와 함께 죽음을 맞이하게 된다. 연대를 정확히 알 수 없는 현재의 시간. 과거의 남녀가 죽음을 함께 한 산 속 그 자리엔 생명의지의 발현으로 한 쌍의 꽃이 되어 피어있다. 그리고 이제 그 곳은 등산로가 되어있다. 과거의 인물과 연관있는듯한 아버지와 어린 소녀 등산객이 우연히 그 꽃 중에 한 송이를 캐내어 간 뒤 남은 꽃에서 설명할 수 없는 현상이 벌어진다. (The film begins as the camera slowly shifts its focus through the nature. The camera then shows a man and a woman being chased through the woods. The nature becomes the hiding place for them and later, the burial place. The camera moves along a tree, and shows that the couple has been reincarnated in the form of a flower. The flower is picked and taken away by a father and a daughter who are climbing the mountain…)연출의도. 시간은 생명과 함께 한다. 그것은 시간의 연속성 아래 순환 또는 일직선적 진행과 같이 생명의지 역시 연속성 또는 순환고리를 가지고 삶이란 형태로 우리에게 찾아온다. 생명에 대한 의지를 꽃이라는 생명의 매개체를 통하여 과거에서 현재로의 시간과 함께 연속성을 표현하고자 했다. 이 영화에서 과거, 현재, 미래로 이어지는 시간의 연속성이 생명의 연속성과 함께하며 그 곳엔 어떤 형태로든 생명의 의지가 있으며 그 의지는 영혼들의 정신적인 진보이자 곧 세상을 살아가는 힘이며 만들어가는 힘이기도 한다. (The couple from the past and the father and daughter from the present time represent the external changes in our lives that occur with time. From the nature's point of view, however, there is an inherent continuity in life, the 'karma' that is endlessly repeated like the fate. Rule of karma, then, seems to be none other than the perpetual presence of the nature)
