1980년대 어느 여름날, 경상북도 작은 시골 마을 아이들이 숨바꼭질을 하고 논다. '바보' 한수는 아이들과 같이 놀고 싶어하지만 아이들을 끼워주지 않는다. 술래가 된 연이는 아이들을 찾아 나선다. 아이들을 찾아 동네 이곳 저곳을 뒤지는 연이. 무서운 폐가의 문도 열어보지만 이상하게 아이들이 보이지 않는다. (One day in 80s, children at a little farm village in Gyeongsang Province were playing seek and hide. 'Idiot' Han-soo wants to join the children, but they don't like to play with him. Yeon-i becomes the tagger and goes finding others all over the village. Even though she opens the door of the horrible ruined house, she can't look for anyone.)연출의도. 어린 시절 잊혀지지 않는 기억에 관한 이야기를 하고 싶었다. 죽음이 무엇인지 잘 알지 못했던 어린 내가 처음으로 죽음과 관련하여 공포를 느꼈던 그 개울가. 이 영화를 통해 사람들이 내가 느꼈던 공포를 공감해 주기를, 그리고 그 공감을 통해 내 안에 들어 있는 어린 내가 위로 받을 수 있기를 꿈꾸었다. 그리고 사람들이 한번쯤은 어린 나이에 죽은 친구에 대한 연민의 마음을 품어주기를 기대했다. (I wanted to say something about my unforgettable memory from childhood. It was the bank of the creek where I had fear about death for the first time as far as I remember. With my short film 'Water Story', I dreamed that people could be sympathized with my fear and then the little girl hiding inside of me could be consoled with their sympathies.
