지하 900m 아래의 세상을 본다. 사방이 온통 검고 어두워서 안전모에 달린 빛이 아니면 아무것도 보이지 않는다. 소리 나는 곳으로 향하면 전등 빛 안으로 온통 검은 잿더미를 뒤집어쓰고 하얀 눈동자만 드러낸 채 석탄을 캐고 있는 광부들이 보인다. 일을 마치고 지상으로 나온 그들 옆으로 다시 탄광으로 들어가는 다른 이들이 교차된다. 폐광이 얼마 남지 않았지만 오늘도 그들의 일상은 계속되고 가까이서 혹은 거리를 두고 그들의 모습을 담는다. 안전 마스크 안에서 나의 거친 숨소리가 점점 거칠게 들려온다. (Looking under the ground at a depth of 900 meters, I depend on the light from the safety helmet to see in the pitch black. Going to where some sound is heard, I see miners with glaring eyes digging for coal; they are covered all over with ashes. Although soon it becomes a disused mine field, the miners can't escape from the same routine. I take a picture with my camera keeping at a distance, but sometimes close to them. I can hear their heavy breathing through their masks.)연출의도 Director's Statement. 사라지는 것과 남는 것... 사라져 가고 있는 시간들 속에서 우리가 기억해야 될 것들을 한번 되짚어보고자 한다. (whats gone and left behind. Lets remind our selves once again about the things which we must not forget within these times that are fading away into the darkness...)
